Emergency electric assistance

The purpose of the MO HealthNet program is to provide medical services to persons who meet certain eligibility requirements as determined by FSD. The goals of the MO HealthNet program are to promote good health, to prevent illness and premature death, to correct or limit disability, to treat illness, and to provide rehabilitation to persons with disabilities. Eligible persons receive a "MO HealthNet Identification Card" or a letter from the local FSD office. The Family Support Division (FSD) determines client eligibility for the MO HealthNet program: the MO HealthNet Division administers the MO HealthNet program including establishment of benefit coverage, rates, claims processing, and all other aspects of daily operations.

Utility Assistance: Provides assistance to low-income individuals for propane, wood and natural gas assistance. Partial payments are made to avoid utility cut-offs. No direct assistance will be given. Callers will be referred to programs in their vicinity.

Provides flu vaccinations for those in need.

Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) provides intensive residential treatment for children, ages 6-18, whose emotional and behavioral issues prevent them from living safely in the community. We treat a number of different child behavioral health prolbems, but specialize in treating the effects of complex trauma and attachment disorders by using proven modalities, such as Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and Practice (DDP)

Accepts donations of children's clothing.

Provides both short term and long term nursing services for individuals in their homes.

Medical Services: Provides various health services, family medicine, dental care, adult and youth services for psychiatric health and wellness, outpatient therapy and psychological assessments, outpatient adult substance use disorders treatment, affordable care act enrollment assistance, cholesterol screening, thyroid evaluations, physical examinations, diabetes management, immunizations for children, adolescents and adults and HPV immunizations.

Young patients up to age 12, and ages 13-17 with emotional and behavioral problems can be treated under the direction of a child and adolescent psychiatrist, treatment team.

Health Screening/Diagnosis Services: Provides blood pressure screenings.

Early Head Start includes childhood education for children, including those with disabilities, child nutrition services, heath and developmental screening and follow-up, parent education and family support services. Child care is available for parents who are working, in school or in training and need child care.

Health screenings are provided for the following: Cardiovascular, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and HIV, Diabetes, Lead, and tuberculosis. Other screenings available upon request.

Provides free legal representation to low income clients in a number of civil legal problems; criminal defense representation is not provided; they handle cases involving public benefits, housing, unemployment compensation, family, consumer, education, employment, health and other matters.

Smithville Housing Authority provides affordable housing for low income residents.

When a heat alert is issued the senior center will open its doors to the public as a cooling center.

Crisis Care for Kids: Provides 24-hour emergency care for children ages 0-12 whose families are in crisis. Children receive a medical exam, developmental assessment, three meals/three snacks daily, therapeutic activities utilizing the Nurtured Heart Approach and Art and Play Therapies, Occupational Therapy, clothing, toys, books, developmentally appropriate play.

Provides comprehensive counseling services, programs and outreach. Specialized treatment programs for person who suffer from co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse problems. Specialized treatment programs for person who suffer from co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse problems.

Provides monthly cash disability benefits under the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program.

Providing services and basic needs (including beds, backpacks and other items) for kinship, foster and adoptive families; as well as support for older youth ages 17-26 with foster care history. Financial assistance can be offered if clients meet eligibility.

Retrieving Freedom, Inc. provides training and placement of Service Dogs for veterans with disabilities.

Specialized treatment programs for person who suffer from co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse problems.

JCDHE offers skin and blood TB tests, and treatment for TB.

Adult in-home respite care is provided.

Section 8 housing choice rental voucher assistance.
