Eligibility

Own (or be making payments) or rent and occupy a home in Kansas City, MO, or Independence, MO, that was built before 1978; household income is less than 80% of the area's median income (families who qualify for WIC usually also qualify for the Lead Safe KC Program); have a child under 6 years of age who lives or visits the home more than 6 hours every week.

Required documents

Proof of home ownership, proof of income, proof of child occupancy (birth certificates for all children living or visiting the home) For rental properties, the owner must agree to give priority to families with young children after the work is complete.
