Weatherization: Provides energy-efficiency assessments, caulking, replacement windows and doors, installation of walls and attic and other work.

Monthly Food Pantry distributed at St. Paul's United Church of Christ Parish House, 1050 North State Street in Freeburg, Illinois.

Older Blind Services: Provides low tech equipment for persons who are low vision to enable them to remain living independently in their own home. Items purchased for individuals include (talking watches, talking clocks, low vision exams, etc).

The Elizabeth Layton Center provides a crisis hotline for Miami & Franklin county residents in immediate need.

This police department is a safe haven for persons wishing to legally surrender physical custody of their infant. Person stating that they are the parent may leave an infant (without fear of prosecution) in the hands of staff. A parent will not be prosecuted for leaving their newborn at a safe haven if they follow the laws, assuming the child is under 45 days old and shows no signs of abuse or neglect.

Jackson County Health Department employs Child Passenger Safety Technicians that are certified to check all types of car seats to make sure each child is in the correct type of car seat that ensures the best fit for the child. The program offers education to parents and/or caregivers on the proper installation of a car seat and information on the correct safety seat for the child's age and size.
