The Greene County Commission is the executive body of Greene County operating under guidelines established in the Revised Statutes of the State of Missouri. Within that authority the Commission enacts ordinances, resolutions and policies, supervises the activities of county departments, fixes salaries, adopts the annual budget, provides for construction and other services, and conducts hearings on planning and zoning matters.

The fatherhood initiative was designed to be useful for fathers in any social service based setting (courts, prisons, employment agencies, hospitals, drug rehabilitation centers, etc.) and in any fathering situation (teen, single, married, divorced, non-custodial, step, father-figures etc.). It is a tool to transform the dysfunctional father into a functioning father and the functioning father into a great dad.

The purpose of the MO HealthNet program is to provide medical services to persons who meet certain eligibility requirements as determined by FSD. The goals of the MO HealthNet program are to promote good health, to prevent illness and premature death, to correct or limit disability, to treat illness, and to provide rehabilitation to persons with disabilities. Eligible persons receive a "MO HealthNet Identification Card" or a letter from the local FSD office. The Family Support Division (FSD) determines client eligibility for the MO HealthNet program: the MO HealthNet Division administers the MO HealthNet program including establishment of benefit coverage, rates, claims processing, and all other aspects of daily operations.

The Healing House Community Outreach Center provides recovery coaching, detox and treatment placement assistance, and support groups.

The Children's Division actively seeks individuals and couples who are willing to become foster parents for the children in the State's custody. Prospective foster parents take a total of 27 hours of training on five competencies necessary to work with the children in CD custody and their families.

This office provides applications for Medicaid. If applicable, they also offer the Blind Pension and Supplemental Aid to the Blind.

Services offered through the Senior Centers include noon-time congregate meals, home-delivered meals to surrounding communities, social, recreational, and educational activities.
