LIHEAP provides Energy Assistance (EA) for heating or cooling bills once per year for a utility bill of their choice. EA assistance covers $326 for gas or $318 for electric bills. EA applications can be submitted starting October 1st for households with someone 60+ years old or someone who is disabled according to the State of Missouri. All other households can apply starting on November 1st. Additionally, Energy Crisis Intervention Program(ECIP) is for clients with their utility shut off or with a disconnect notice and who qualify for EA. Winter ECIP runs Nov-May and can cover up to $800. Summer ECIP runs June-Sept and covers $300.
