Ability KC provides CARF accredited assistive technology services through the Adaptive Computer & Communication Technology (ACCT) Program. The program targets two primary components of assistive technology- the equipment that empowers individuals with disabilities to have a voice through augmentative & alternative communication (AAC); and the adapted access method to use all forms of communication, whether it be spoken through AAC, or to use methods such as eyegaze or voice, or read back software to access computers, phones or tablets that may be used for work or social connections. By understanding the unique needs of each individual served and the latest assistive technology, the ACCT Program maximizes the abilities of individuals to access their daily activities through assistive technology for communication and engagement.

The Maternal and Infant Clinic is offered to pregnant Leavenworth County residents in conjunction with Kansas University Medical Center. The program includes prenatal services by a physician, a registered nurse, a registered dietitian, a licensed social worker, and a registered medical technologist.

A supplemental nutrition program for pregnant, breast feeding and postpartum women and their infants and children to age five. Recipients must meet income guidelines and qualify as "nutritionally at risk" based on a medical & nutritional assessment.

Family-centered Services are provided to families and children in their own homes when a child abuse or neglect investigation/family assessment response determination is preponderance of evidence, unsubstantiated-preventive services indicated, or services needed. These services are also provided to families who voluntarily seek help. Family-centered Services include a range of treatment and support services and are provided, as appropriate to the case treatment plan.

Provides mental health and substance abuse services, family planning services, substance abuse treatment, Residential short-term treatment, outpatient, and case Management Services for adults and children.

MO HealthNet (Medicaid) Program: Provides medical services to persons who meet certain eligibility requirements as determined by FSD. MO HealthNet Division administers the MO HealthNet program including establishment of benefit coverage, rates, claims processing, and all other aspects of daily operations.

Provides a warming center during extreme cold temperatures

The HelpKC works to help women build a path toward long-term stability. While they support all women, they prioritize those navigating reentry and financial instability. Through their "What the HEC?" framework—Housing, Employment Assistance, and Credit Improvement—they provide programs that empower women to reach economic independence.

Legal Aid of Western Missouri provides free legal representation and counsel to disadvantaged seniors and low-income residents in civil (non-criminal) matters. Legal Aid has a limited capacity for cases due to capacity, so assistance may be limited at this time. Eviction assistance outside of RTC or Section 8 is not available. If the client is faced with a court eviction within the city limits of Kansas City, please have them complete a RTC application through 211. If the client is experiencing a voucher termination or an eviction of their Section 8 housing, they can contact Legal Aid to do an application for assistance.
