Various Life Skills workshops are presented to small groups of participants to increase their knowledge and skills in areas that are important to managing life. Financial Planning: Values and goals, budgeting, credit, comparison shopping and buying a car. Parent Education; Communication skills & styles; self esteem issues; constructive discipline; creative play. Nutrition/Shopping Skills: Nutrition guidelines & food safety; food buying; consumer tips. Time/Stress Management: Effectively gain control of time usage & habits. Coping with stress; techniques to reduce stress; children & stress. Health Care: Family health care; normal child development; self health care. Employment Skills: Job readiness and retainment skills training.

Provides assistance with minor home repairs to reduce energy costs and/or improve living conditions. Services might include install digital thermostat, screen doors, or repair an existing equipment. Can assist when grant funds are available.

Health screenings are provided for the following: Cardiovascular, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and HIV, Diabetes, Lead, and tuberculosis. Other screenings available upon request.

Salvation Army provides winter coats to people in need when available. Coats usually become available in December.
