City Union Mission Family Shelter houses single women, women with children, men with children, complete families and married couples. Residents of the shelter are provided with 3 meals daily, 24 hour security and case management.

United Way staff may be able to connect people to community partners to assist with temporary emergency shelter.
Emergency housing for homeless veterans. Residents also receive case management, support services and meals while in program.
Lion House is a LGBTQ+ specific emergency overnight shelter.
The mission provides overnight shelter, breakfast and dinner, medical care, counseling, clothing, transportation, adult basic education, Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, and referral services. Chapel attendance mandatory for shelter. "Taste and See" is available daily beginning at 4:30pm. Men may come for dinner, a shower and stay for chapel service. Taste and See does not guarantee a bed for the night.
KCVA provides emergency and transitional housing programs to eligible veterans at contracted sites in Kansas City, MO and Kansas City, KS
Twenty bed facility open nightly to those in need who are located in Johnson County, MO.
The Night Shelter offers men, women, and families in Leavenworth County, with no place to go or in need of temporary emergency shelter, a warm, safe place to sleep.

Community Shelters
A temporary shelter for homeless families (regardless of make-up) with minor children. Services provided include shelter, case management, clothing, resource and referrals for housing, and various other supportive services to the families in shelter. Shelter stay can last up to 90 days.
Emergency shelter for low income homeless families with children. Three meals daily, laundry facilities, life skills classes, referrals, etc. Pastoral counseling and spiritual programs available. Participants are required to work towards housing goals to obtain permanent and stable housing upon their discharge from shelter. Participants have access to Strength-Based Case Management, Pastoral Care, and Life Skills Classes. No criminal activity, smoking or alcohol is allowed on the premises.
Provides shelter for women and their children in homeless situations. Provides shelter for women and their children experiencing domestic violence.
