Eligibility
Families or individuals who would like to become a foster parent must meet the following criteria to qualify:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • U.S. citizen by birth or naturalization, or be able to provide immigration status
  • No criminal or child abuse/neglect record
  • Financially Stable - Proof of Income
  • Good physical, mental and emotional health
  • Home must be a safe environment for children
  • Available space to accommodate children
  • Successfully complete all training requirements (if married or cohabiting, both must attend all required trainings)
  • Participate in the home assessment process to become a licensed foster home
  • Foster parents can be single, cohabiting or married
  • Foster parents can own their own homes, or rent an apartment
