Military Matters provides access to pro bono and low bono legal assistance for service members and veterans who are unable to receive services from Legal Aid or a public defender.

Application process

Call 2-1-1 for intake. CALL SPECIALIST: Complete a Veteran Assessment, collect caller name and phone number and email it to BERNITA with call log number and known details and include "LEGAL ASSISTANCE" in subject line.

Fee

Services are offered low bono or pro bono depending on the volunteer. The foundation has funds set aside to help cover fees, if applicable.

Must be a veteran who served active duty or current active duty military, Reserve, or National Guard
